The British women's 4x100m relay quartet were eliminated in their semi-final on Friday.

Despite posting a season's best time of 43.19 seconds the squad of Joice Maduaka, Marcia Richardson, Samantha Davies and Shani Anderson found themselves finishing only fifth as Jamaica led France and Germany across the finishing line in 42.15 seconds.

The USA quartet found themselves pushed into second place in their heat. Victory went to the Bahamas who clocked 42.42 - 0.40 faster than the favourites - with Nigeria third in 42.82.
