ABSENT JONES STAYS ON COURSE
Marion Jones is still on course for five Games golds and she did not even have
to take to the track.
The American was given the morning off after becoming the first woman to win
the sprint double in 12 years last night with her victory in the 200m.
Even in her absence, the sprint relay quartet cruised into the semi-finals
with a heat victory in 42.92secs.
Britain's team of Joice Maduaka, Marcia Richardson, Sarah Wilhelmy and Shani
Anderson qualified for the semis as one of the fastest losers after setting a
season's best time of 43.26secs.
