Atlanta cornerback Dunta Robinson insists the Falcons defence will be doing whatever is necessary to stop San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

The Niners' newest star is a threat on the ground as well as in the air as he threw for 263 yards and rushed for another 181 yards in their 45-31 victory over the Green Bay Packers.

The Falcons' defence are focusing on keeping Kaepernick in the pocket after doing a decent job in allowing Seattle's Russell Wilson to rush for 60 yards from seven attempts last weekend.

Atalanta struggled against mobile quarterbacks earlier in the season, however, Robinson feels they will get things right with the Super Bowl within touching distance.

"I think we've done some good things against the running quarterbacks," Robinson said. "We've been hurt by some running quarterbacks, and we've done some good things against some running quarterbacks.

"If we want to continue to play, if we want to continue to be the team we know we can be, then this is the time for us to stand up on Sunday and do whatever it takes to get this win."

San Francisco defensive lineman Justin Smith made his return from a partially torn triceps against the Packers last weekend.

Smith played on 53 of the 58 defensive snaps and he feels he will only feel more comfortable against Atalanta.

"It felt pretty good for the most part, just getting used to it, playing with it. It should be even better this week after going through it and knowing how it felt and what to expect. So it should be even better this week," he told CSNBayArea.

"I think there's still a comfort level of getting used to it. Just mentally going out there and coming out of the game and knowing how it feels and felt during the game. I'll be a lot more comfortable this week."
