Colts quarterback Andrew Luck found LaVon Brazill on a 42-yard pass to reduce his side's deficit to 33-28 with two minutes and 39 seconds remaining.

And, on the final play of the game from the Lions' 14-yard line, Donnie Avery somehow managed to weave his way into the end zone after receiving a short screen pass.

Rookie Luck completed 24-of-54 passes for 391 yards and four touchdowns, including two for wide receiver Avery, but was also intercepted three times.

Calvin Johnson was the standout performer in a losing cause with 13 catches for 171 yards and one of the Lions' three touchdowns.

Indianapolis improved to 8-4 and in good shape for at least a wildcard in the AFC, while Detroit drop to 4-8 and sit bottom of the NFC North.
