Saturday's BAGS programme kicks off with the usual lunchtime cards from Romford (10.31 to 1.49), and Crayford (10.38 to 1.58) with 14 races apiece. The afternoon entertainment is provided by Newcastle, also 14 races from 2.24 to 6.16.

The evening action commences almost immediately afterwards at Sittingbourne (12 races from 6.28 to 9.22) and Monmore (11 races from 6.38 to 9.14).

For the BAGS best bet we suggest a look at the 9th race from Crayford. This is an A4 run over the sharp 380-metre distance and it will be no surprise at all to see

Canary Surprise (T6 12.39) land the spoils. He has useful all round ability and can take full advantage of a cosy draw.

Sunderland is the place to be this evening where the William Hill Festival takes place with six heats each for the Classic (450 metres) and the Grand Prix (640 metres).

The sponsors’ ante post Classic favourite is Julie Bateson’s Ardkill Tunoco (T5) who performs in Heat 3 at 8.52, when he surely only has to repeat last month’s 26.69 sec win over Mustang Garcia to land the spoils.

Hurleys Hero (T3 9.40) is as short as 7/2 market leader with Hills for the Grand Prix. He looked very good last month when gaining a smashing C & D success in 39.27 sec and he can make his tally 9 wins from his last 11 races.
