Matt Kuchar parred the sixth extra hole to beat Vaughn Taylor in a play-off and win the Turning Stone Resort Championship in New York.

The two Americans had to return to the course on Monday morning after failing to get the job done on Sunday night when bad light ended their play-off after two extra holes.

And it was a poor start by both as they each made bogey at the par-four 13th, Kuchar missing from just four feet with a par putt which would have given him victory.

Kuchar had to hole a 20 foot birdie putt at the fourth extra hole - the 624-yard 18th - to stay alive and then needed a fine up-and-down from sand at the next (the 12th) to keep the play-off alive.

But at the sixth extra-hole Taylor cracked and sliced his tee-shot into water and Kuchar kept his nerve with a par to seal victory and claim his first US Tour win since 2002.
