DJ Trahan completed a wire-to-wire victory - his maiden win on the PGA Tour - at the Southern Farm Bureau Classic, but he needed a play-off to achieve it.
Trahan began the day two strokes ahead of Lee Janzen but a second successive one-under-par 71 - which included an eagle, a birdie and two bogeys - left him tied with Joe Durant.
The pair went to extra holes and after both birdied the par-five 18th twice, Trahan completed the feat for a third time from five feet to win after Durant missed from slightly further away.
Trahan, in his second year on tour, had missed 17 of 29 cuts this season and was just 142nd on the money list and in danger of losing his card but the victory earned him a two-year exemption.
Durant recorded a six-under 66 and was safely in the clubhouse at 13 under when Trahan birdied the 14th to reach the same score.
However, he could only play the final four holes in regulation to take the tournament to a play-off but prevailed to reward him for leading the way the previous three days.
Janzen finished third at 12 under two-under round of 70.
