Retief Goosen scored 32 points to capture his first PGA Tour title of the year
at The International in Colorado.
After rain postponed Thursday's first round, 63 players were forced to play
the final two rounds yesterday.
Goosen scored eight points in the third round, putting him within four of
leader Brandt Jobe entering the final 18 holes.
And the South African scored seven points in the final round to finish one
point ahead of Jobe, who was minus three over the final 18 holes.
The win could not come at better time for Goosen, who is one of the favourites
for this week's USPGA Championship - the final Major of the season.
Goosen led after three rounds at the US Open before falling apart and finished
tied for fifth at The Open.
The International is the only PGA Tour event to use a modified Stableford
format, awarding points for birdies and better and subtracting points for bogeys
and worse.
Players receive two points for a birdie, five for an eagle and eight for an
albatross but lose a point for a bogey and three points for a double-bogey or
worse.
Britain's Justin Rose finished 12 points off the place while Phillip Price was
another point back.
