Vaughn Taylor took advantage as Steve Allan squandered a two-shot lead on the
final hole of the Reno-Tahoe Open.
Taylor then survived a four-way play-off to win his first PGA Tour title.
Allan, in his fourth year on the Tour, looked to be on his way to capturing
his first career title as he arrived at the par-four 18th on 12 under par, but
threw away the lead with a double-bogey.
Allan's mistake allowed Taylor, Scott McCarron and Hunter Mahan into a
sudden-death play-off at the 18th after all four players finished at 10 under
par on 278 for the tournament.
Taylor was the one to come up trumps as he sank an 11-foot birdie on the first
extra hole to capture the £300,000 first prize.
