Vijay Singh regained the top spot on
the PGA Tour money list from Tiger Woods when he won the million Funai
Classic at Disney World on Sunday.
Singh, who started the day in a four-way tie for the lead, shot a five-under-par
67 to pull away for a comfortable victory in benign conditions at the Magnolia
course.
The Fiji native finished at 23-under 265, four strokes clear of a
fast-finishing Woods (65), Stewart Cink (71) and Scott Verplank (71).
Woods never was seriously in the hunt after bogeying the first hole, but he
fought back impressively with six birdies and an eagle.
He now is in serious jeopardy of not winning the money title for just the
second time in his career.
The world's No. 1 player has just one event left, the season-ending Tour
Championship in two weeks, while Singh will play the final two tournaments.
Singh, 40, collected 720,000 dollars for his 15th PGA Tour victory, fourth this year,
taking his season earnings to 6,827,507 dollars.
