A bout of food poisoning was the only opponent Tiger Woods encountered in the final round at the Bay Hill Invitational in Orlando, Florida.

Despite looking weak and nauseous, Woods scored a whopping 11-stroke victory in heavy rain on the Bay Hill course.

Woods shot a four-under-par 68 in his final round to finish at 19-under-par 269, while fellow Americans Kirk Triplett, Brad Faxon, Kenny Perry and Stewart Cink tied for second on 280.

The 27-year-old Woods became only the third player and the first since Gene Sarazen in 1930, to win the same PGA Tour event four times in a row.

"The night was long and the day was probably even longer," said Woods, who is a combined 65-under par over the past four years at Bay Hill.

"I wasn't feeling my best. That being said, I'm very happy with the way I played."

Woods blamed his sickness on pasta he ate at home, saying he "started feeling pretty bad" about half an hour after the meal.

He now has 37 victories on the PGA Tour. Only 10 players have won more often.

Woods also has three wins in four starts this year, and will be a heavy favourite at next week's Players Championship and next month's Masters, bad meal or not.
