| The world number one and defending champion comes to Southern Hills with a bit of pressure on his broad shoulders - this is his last chance to win a major this year, and the great man has not missed out on at least one big one since 2004. After a quiet Open championship, Tiger roared back to his very best with a majestic eight-shot victory at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational last week. But while Firestone is right up there amongst his favourite courses, the same can't be said for Southern Hills. He was tied 21st of 30 in the 1996 Tour Championship held there while he failed to make the top 10 when the Tulsa course staged the 2001 US Open. But if Woods gets off to a fast start he'll be extremely difficult to dislodge and, quite simply, he's the man to beat. |
