The Swede's rapid rise into the world's top ten makes him someone to watch in the big events nowadays even though he's still relativey inexperienced at this level. This is just Stenson's 11th start in a major and althouth he's still to crack the top 10 he's shown plenty of signs of promise including a tied 17th at Augusta in April and a 14th in this event last year. However, missed cuts in both US and British Opens have been something of a reality check and he was disqualified in the recent Deutsche Bank Championship in Germany after admitting he lost count of how many putts he took on the 17th and scrapped his card. Stenson will need to get his head together quickly if he's to recapture his early-season form but, if at his best, he would be a live contender.
