Rose has proved this year that he's a player who can challenge seriously for majors. A stunning final round charge at Augusta put him just one shot back teeing off on 17 (he eventually finished fifth) while he had another winning chance in the US Open at Oakmont before running out of gas on Sunday and finishing tied 10th. He played some more good golf at Carnoustie to finish 12th and he put in another excellent performance to claim a share of second place in last week's WGC Bridgestone Invitational. Without doubt, there's a feeling now that every time he tees it up, Rose will get into contention. He hasn't made a top 20 yet in four previous tries at the USPGA but in his current form it would be a surprise if he doesn't figure heavily this year.
