| Fasth has been one of the game's form players over the last few months so it was a slight surprise that he couldn't better tied 35th at Carnoustie. Before that the Swede was the top Euro finisher in the US Open at Oakmont, placing fourth. And, with his confidence flowing, he returned to the European Tour to capture the following week's BMW International Open in Germany. After a week off he then headed to the K Club in Ireland where he finished runner-up to Colin Montgomerie. A dogged competitor, Fasth won't back off if he gets into contention and it's worth noting that he has a 10th place on his USPGA record from 2003. A much stronger player these days, he'll be looking to better that this week and hopefully make a title bid. |
