| Choi had quietly racked up four US Tour victories before the start of this year but 2007 has seen him really hit the headlines after two excellent wins. First, he captured the Memorial Tournament at the start of June and just two starts later he became the inaugural winner of Tiger's new tournament, the AT&T National. Always prominent at Carnoustie before finishing eighth, there's a growing feeling that Choi is a Major winner waiting to happen. This could well be the one as he's played very well in the season's final major. He was tied fifth at halfway when an unknown in 2001 while, more recently, he's finished sixth in 2004 and seventh last year. After all the success of his female compatriots, Choi has a great chance to become South Korea's first male major winner. |
