USPGA PROFILE
Casey has finished tied 10th in both this season's US majors and his 66 at Oakmont on day two was the low round of the week. The Englishman again showed his ability to flourish in the big US events by taking the first round lead in last week's WGC Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone although he faded badly on the weekend. However, his natural confidence suggests he can bounce back straight away and make a mark. Perhaps a bigger worry is that he's never managed better than 59th in five cracks at the USPGA. There's no obvious explanation for that and Casey certainly has the game to cope with Southern Hills. He has a good record on tree-lined courses and will also have taken inspiration from Padraig Harrington's Open win. Definitely one of the Europeans to watch.
