USPGA PROFILE
The Scot thrilled his legions of fans with a brilliant second behind Tiger Woods at the Open Championship last month to give us all a glimmer of hope that he might not go through his career without a major title. He has done little in this event since a T6 at Medinah in 1999 but his renewed confidence could well make him a legitmate contender for the trophy. His driving and iron play remain out of the top drawer so it may boil down to him holing a few putts over the four days.
