Toms may not possess the flair or charisma of some of his peers but that has not stopped him becoming one of the top players in the world. His crowning highlight came in this event three years ago when he held off Phil Mickelson to take the title in Atlanta following a wonderful up-and-down from full wedge distance on the 72nd hole. He seems to be over a nagging wrist problem but will have wanted to warm up in better fashion than a missed cut in last week's International in Colorado.
