Tiger Woods went off to discover if his home had been damaged by Hurricane
Charley after the third round in the US PGA championship in Wisconsin on Saturday.
The world number one lives in Orlando and said: "I didn't want to call this
morning and have that on my mind going out there to play."
He fired a three-under-par 69, but at three under overall remained in the pack
at the final major of the year.
Woods reckons he would be well in contention, however, but for three
photographers disturbing him during the week.
"They've cost me four shots," he said. "You're not used to hearing cameras
go off normally when you play golf.
"I should get my focus back, but I didn't do it."
That was not helped by being timed for slow play during his round with Swede
Niclas Fasth.
"I couldn't waste my time, put the club back and start the whole routine all
over again. I had to get up and I hit a poor shot.
"I think it's the guys that we don't see week to week. The guys who are tour
veterans know what they are doing - they never mess up."
