USPGA PROFILE
Proven Tour performers looking to make the breakthrough as Major chanmpionship winners have done very well in the past at this event. Phil Mickelson probably boasts the best credentials as he seeks to break his duck in that department but current form suggests he will hardly be brimming with confidence. A better effort last weekend saw him post a first top 10 finish in six starts as he continues to be plagued by quite woeful inaccuracy from the tee. The burden of the best player never to win a Major hangs increasingly heavily around his neck and it could well be 2004 before he can rid himself of that tag.
