USPGA PROFILE
Howell has cemented his position as one of game's rising stars with a win at the Michelob Championship in 2002, his first on Tour. More good performances, including a play-off loss to Mike Weir at the Nissan Open, have followed and the victories are sure to start flowing with regularity before too long. A busy mid-season schedule has seen his form tail off a little though there were some encouraging signs at Castle Pines. A creditable record in two starts at this event could well be built on this week if in the mood. A monster hitter for one so slight of frame, he can produce real fireworks when getting in the groove.
