USPGA PROFILE
Ben Curtis secured his place in sporting history when the US Tour rookie emerged from nowhere to win the Open Championship in dramatic fashion at Royal St George's. It was his first start in any major yet he eclipsed some illustrious names to lift the Claret Jug and change his life forever. With a five-year exemption, we have plenty of time to find out whether that was an aberration or the start of something great. He looks to have a solid game and technique but must get used to playing in the marquee groups among the big names - he is one now so can he live up to it? It would be an amazing achievement indeed if his first two victories were both Major events.
