ANDRADE TO PLAY MAJOR PART
Two-time winner Larry Nelson's withdrawal from this week's United States PGA
championship with a hip injury has opened the door for fellow American Billy
Andrade to play the final major of the year.
Japan's Hidemichi Tanaka was fourth reserve and could have replaced Nelson,
but declined the chance and so fifth alternate Andrade was contacted.
First two reserves Billy Mayfair and Skip Kendall came in last week for Nick
Price and Paul Lawrie.
Nick Faldo and Ian Woosnam had withdrawn earlier before
the final field was announced.
