LAWRIE PULLS OUT OF USPGA
Former Open champion Paul Lawrie has withdrawn from next week's USPGA
championship at Oak Hill, the final major of the year.
The 34-year-old Scot, who has not played since missing the cut at the Open at
Royal St George's last month, said: "Having consulted my doctor this afternoon
I have been advised to withdraw from next week's USPGA championship.
"I have a neck problem that is causing headaches and I have been feeling very
tired over the past few weeks. While tests do not suggest that anything serious
is wrong, I've been advised to rest for at least another week.
"I am very disappointed to miss the USPGA."
