USPGA PROFILE
Weir first appeared on the world stage back in 1999 when leading the USPGA Championship after three rounds. On that occasion he looked phased when partnering Tiger Woods in the final round and finished 10th. But the following year he proved he'd learned from that experience when beating a world-class field at the World Golf Championship-American Express Championship at Valderrama. He again showed his liking for the big-time when capturing the end-of-season Tour Championship last year. Weir has missed just two cuts on the US Tour this season, although he has failed to register a top 10 finish which is a slight concern. However, he has never finished lower than 30th on the three occasions he has played in this major, and always seems to leave his best form for the second-half of the year.
