Retief Goosen, one of the halfway pacesetters in the United States PGA championship, is no longer working with sports psychologist Jos Vanstiphout.

The Belgian helped Goosen win the US Open last year and last month was with Ernie Els for his Open triumph at Muirfield.

"About three weeks ago we decided to have a little bit of a break," said Goosen today, after his second successive 69 at Hazeltine National.

"We've been working together for two and a half years and things had become a little bit too similar in a way, so we decided to take a break and see how we feel from thereon.

"He's done a great job with me - and lot of other players."
