A first prize of 990,000 US dollars is on offer at this week's USPGA championship.

That is an increase of USD54,000 on the amount David Toms won in Atlanta last year, with the total purse going up USD300,000 to USD5.5million.

Each of the top-13 finishers will earn six-figure cheques.
