| US OPEN PROFILE |
 |
| Tiger bids for a third US Open crown after victories at Bethpage Black in 2002 and Pebble Beach in 2000. But the monster New York public course and the California coastal test were more suited to his aggressive game than most US Open set-ups. Last year at Winged Foot, Woods even suffered the indignity of missing the cut. With his driving accuracy still languishing a little above 50 per cent, Woods will need to straighten up the longest club in the bag to figure strongly at Oakmont. But with three US Tour victories already in the bag this season and a battling second at the US Masters behind him, Tiger's sights will be on improving his weakest record of the big four and clinching a 13th Major despite a couple of sub-standard efforts of late. |
