The in-form Englishman makes a welcome return to the US Open this season and he must be optimistic about his chances as he continues to mature into a high-class performer. A brilliant tied fifth in the event four years ago, Rose arrives having been just touched off in the BMW PGA Championship recently and that followed on from being right in the mix at the Masters back in April. He has the game to make his presence felt and certainly deserves a change of luck after a string of near misses in 2007. Back trouble doesn't seem to have stopped him performing at the highest level.
