US OPEN PROFILE
Garcia continues to churn out the wins on both sides of the Atlantic and notched his sixth US Tour win at last week's Booz Allen Classic. But he still seeks a first Major title having come closest back in 1999 at the PGA Championship when memorably hunting Tiger Woods on the final day only to give best in the closing stages. He was in position for US Open glory 12 months ago only to be swept aside, like many others on a tough final day at Shinnecock Hills. The tendency to throw in the odd horror hole still holds him back but there is little doubt he has the talent to make his presence felt on Sunday.
