US OPEN PROFILE
Jim Furyk joined the golfing elite in 2003 with an emotional victory in this event at Olympia Fields in Illinois. His campaign was curtailed somewhat the following year following wrist surgery but Furyk in 2005 has once again looked ready to add to his tally of titles. He comes here after a string of very solid efforts in the first half of the year and his efficient, effective game is likely to get the most out of an unforgiving Pinehurst No2. venue.
