| US OPEN PROFILE |
 |
| Tiger Woods ended his major championship drought when he finally beat a determined Chris DiMarco in the Masters at Augusta - his fourth Green Jacket. He has notched two other wins in 2005 and once again displayed the qualities that set him apart from his peers - including an ability to take titles when not at his very best. He was philosophical about a first missed cut in any event for seven years at the Byron Nelson but that was little more than a minor bump in the road. Woods will surely be primed for a third national title and improve on a third place behind Payne Stewart at this venue back in 1999. |
