US OPEN PROFILE
It's hard to believe that the sparky Spaniard is still just 24 considering the amount he has crammed into his career to date. Despite those tender years, many are still surprised that his CV does not contain a Major title. Swing changes undertaken in 2003 led to a blank season on the PGA Tour but that has been rectified this year with a play-off win at the Byron Nelson in Texas and another triumph at the Buick Classic last week. Garcia should thrive at Shinnecock Hills with his superb shotmaking ability a huge asset in what should be a very testing four days.
