US OPEN PROFILE
The Dubliner has come on leaps and bounds in the last couple of seasons and is really starting to make his mark on the big stage. He has finally started to convert some truly great play into victories (two in Europe in 2003) and his next goal must be a Major championship - and it is a realistic one. One of the big guns on the European Tour, he is starting to ply his trade a little more on the other side of the Atlantic and he appears to be settling in well. The crowds have warmed to his permanently sunny outlook and they are also enjoying him deliver some good golf. He played superbly at the Players Championship in March to share for second and two top tens in three years at this event suggest he will not be far away again. His game is in top shape and he controls the ball well from tee to green. His preparations might be spoiled a little as he played in the FBR Capital Open that had to go into an extra day due to the bad weather.
