US OPEN PROFILE
The big-hitting South African announced his arrival as a world force with his win in this event two years ago when he beat Mark Brooks in an 18-hole play-off. He splits his time between the United States and Europe with great success and has added two more wins (one on each Tour) to his portfolio since. Barely a week goes by without Goosen being in contention and one of his great strengths seems to be his adapatabilty - all events come alike to him and he seems able to produce whatever the requirements of the course. He will not have been too happy with his weekend at the Memorial after the weather turned nasty and he posted 74-73 having opened with a pair of 67s but his game looks in good shape on the whole and he must be a leading candidate.
