Leonard has been one of the most consistent players on the US Tour over the last three months. In that time, his seven starts have yielded a win in the Worldcom Classic, a tied sixth in the Houston Open, a tied fifth in the Kemper Open and three further top 20s. Leonard, who ran his first marathon at the start of the year, is a man to keep an eye out for in the Majors having won the 1997 British Open and finished runner-up in 1997 USPGA and the 1999 Open. His US Open record isn't as good with a best of tied 15th in seven attempts. He could well improve upon that this time but his lack of length may thwart a bigger challenge.
