The Dubliner has come on leaps and bounds in the last couple of seasons and is starting to make his mark on the big stage. He was the early leader in the US Masters back in April and although never threatening to win he did well to hold on for fifth. Harrington now has three top five finishes in the Majors, the most relevant to this week his tied fifth in the 2000 US Open at Pebble Beach. Although he's suffered huge frustration by finishing runner-up in regular Tour events on no less than 15 occasions, the 30-year-old has his best years ahead of him and his methodical approach is well suited to the rigours of a US Open. He's already got a good record in the States and should help beef up the European challenge this week.
