The elusive quest for a first Major continues for Mickelson and there's a common perception that the US Open doesn't represent his best chance. Nevertheless he went mighty close to victory in 1999 when edged out by Payne Stewart and got himself in great position again last year before fading in the final round. It's certainly true that Mickelson's aggressive approach seems an ill-fit on a US Open layout where patience is the key but his raw talent means he can get himself out of trouble. His recent form suggests he's biding his time again for another big crack at a Major so don't rule him out.
