Frenchwoman Gwladys Nocera and Pornanong Phatlum, of Thailand, share the first-round lead at the Suzhou Taihu Ladies Open after the pair both carded four-under-par 68s in China on Friday.

Nocera recovered from a dropped shot at the fourth to make six birdies, with another bogey at the 12th her only other blemish, while Pornanong managed five birdies against just one bogey - also at the par-four 12th.

The duo lead Finland's Minea Blomqvist and Korean Bo Mih Suh, who both shot 69s, by a stroke.

Blomqvist began well with two birdies in her first four holes but bogeys at the ninth and 12th checked her progress. However, she picked up two further strokes to eventually finish three-under. Bo, by contrast, collected four birdies against a solitary bogey at the par-five 18th.

England's Lora Fairclough, Australian Frances Bondad and Julieta Granada finished bunched together on two under.

Paraguayan Granada was level par through 11 holes before an ace at the par-three third when a six-iron from 153 yards found the hole saw her move into contention.
