After a series of near misses, Phil Mickelson now boasts two Green Jackets after last year's stunning victory. Bar Tiger Woods, he boasts the best recent record at Augusta National but unlike Woods' scintillating start to the season, Mickelson's has been rather mixed. He was a mile behind Woods in the Buick and then missed the cut at Scottsdale a week later. But he did bounce back by winning at Pebble Beach and going down narrowly to a resurgent Charles Howell III at the Nissan Open. But he was down the field at Bay Hill and started Doral with a horrendous 77 before getting his game together over the weekend. It is impossible to rule him out of calculations as his long hitting and magical short game make him an ideal candidate for a third title.
