US MASTERS PROFILE

Toms joined the US Tour's upper echelon with a flood of wins in the late 1990s and early 2000s. It culminated in a first Major title at the 2001 USPGA and many believe more will follow. He's played some imperious golf at times in 2005 and blew his rivals away to win the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship at La Costa. He's never been a regular contender at Augusta but top eight finishes in 1997 and 2002 suggest that when at the top of his game he can compensate for his short hitting with some brilliant iron play and a sharp short game. Hopefully he won't dwell too much on his final round 82 at the Players Championship!
