As a 10-year-old, Howell once shot 79 at Augusta National and his love affair with the Masters has grown ever since. He was born a stone's throw from the course and once said: "I've made it clear that's the one tournament I would want to win over any other tournament in the world. I consider Augusta National hallowed ground." Howell has improved his finish each time in his three Masters appearances - 29th in 2002, 28th in 2003 and 13th last year - so he's on course to crack the top ten for the first time. If he produces the form he showed at the start of 2005 he could do even better than that and throw down a serious title challenge.
