US MASTERS PROFILE
Clarke has given the impression on a number of occasions that he'll be the next European to slip his arms into the Green Jacket but the bottom line is that the Ulsterman is still to improve on his eighth place on debut in 1998. Without being at his sparkling best he's had a solid run of top ten finishes in the early part of 2005 and if the putts drop Clarke can be a serious contender this week. Two wins in World Championship events shows that he can blow the very best fields away and no-one doubts he has the talent to end Europe's drought in the Majors which stretches back to 1999.
