Day Three - April 10
Paul Casey (68): "I had a lot of fun out there. I think pairings count so much and Mark O'Meara was great to play with. I played some great golf, A couple of putts got away, but I was having a real ball. It's great to show the American crowds what I can do. I have not let the course get me down and I am really looking forward to tomorrow."
Chris DiMarco (68): "You can still play aggressive, but you can also play very smart, because you know you don't have to birdie every hole. And when you feel like you're playing from behind, it's an extremely difficult golf course. So I just kind of stayed very confident up there and just kept hitting shots on the middle of greens. I hit a lot of greens today, and the ones I didn't hit, I left in the right position."
Phil Mickelson (69): "I think that heading into the final round, I'm much more at ease than I have been in the past, where I've been anxious and wondering how is it going to go on the range beforehand, or am I going to drive it in play or is my swing going to be there. I don't feel that anxiety. I haven't felt it all year. I feel very confident that I'm able to drive the ball in play, that I'm able to hit my irons the proper distance. I feel very confident in my putting and have all year. So it's been a nice change."
Bernhard Langer (69): "Today I played very well. Yesterday and the first day, I wasn't totally comfortable with my swing and my rhythm. But I made a couple of changes, called my coach last night, Willie Hoffman, who was here the first three days of the week. He said just to try a couple of things, which I did this morning, and I felt the rhythm came back. I had a little bit more time at the top of my swing and hit the ball very solid today. (In response to being asked: "If you manage to win tomorrow, will you play in the Ryder Cup?") No. I said that before. I don't know why everybody keeps asking. Once I make up my mind, that's it."
Tiger Woods (75): "I'm very close to putting it all together. I made nothing today. I just need to make a few more putts, get the ball a little closer to the hole, and it will be all good. The middle part of the back nine really hurt me a lot. I was 2 over par on the periphery, but if I could have birdied the two par 5s and maybe get one more I would be right where I needed to be, under par. I made double there on 13 and I bogeyed 14."
Justin Rose (81): "I hit the ball beautifully on the range. I just got off to a bad, bad start and every little minor mistake got punished. That is obviously what Augusta is all about. It bit back in a large way."
