| Amazingly, a win at Winged Foot in the 1997 USPGA remains Davis Love's only Major title - hard to believe considering the talent this guy possesses. He's had a host of near misses either side of that including two runners-up finishes at Augusta. In 1995 he was edged out by Ben Crenshaw and four years later couldn't quite reel in Jose Maria Olazabal. He's also had three other top sevens and finished outside the top 15 just twice in the last nine years. Winner of four US Tour events in 2003, Love has twice finished second this year and if he stays clear of the back problems that have troubled him in recent weeks he will be a leading contender. |
