Phil Mickelson, tipped at 33/1 ante-post and 8/1 pre-tournament by Dave Tindall, was the toast of the Bettingzone on Sunday night as he produced a thrilling victory in the US Masters at Augusta.
Despite his slump in 2003, Mickelson was singled out as the ante-post value back in early January, with Tindall saying: "If Mickelson is to bounce back with a bang in 2003, the most likely place for him to showcase his return to the top is Augusta.
"Even in his poor 2003 season he managed a third place finish and that means he's finished tied seventh or better in seven of the last nine years."
Tindall weighed in with a hefty 3pts each-way at 33/1 which produced a monster payout of 123.75pts.
After a superb start to the season, Mickelson was as short as 8/1 heading to Augusta but that didn't stop Tindall going in again and making the left-hander his headline selection.
He wrote: "Mickelson's golf has been superb all season. He burst out of the blocks with a victory in the Bob Hope Classic. And since then it's been big-money finishes all the way.
"Well Phil, everything's in place for you. Now, seize the day!"
And Mickelson did just that with a thrilling late burst to pip Ernie Els by a single shot.
Another 2pts win at 8/1 took profits from Mickelson to 139.75pts and added to our recent run of golf winners which included 16/1 Colin Montgomerie in the Caltex Masters and 50/1 Adam Scott in the Players Championship.
