US MASTERS PROFILE
After failing to register a single top ten in a lacklustre 2002 campaign, Weir has burst out of the blocks in 2003 with two victories. He captured the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic at the start of February and three weeks later edged out Charles Howell to win the Nissan Open. Now the Canadian left-hander will be looking to add a major. Weir certainly has the temperament and pedigree to challenge for the big prizes having won the 2000 WGC-American Express Championship and the 2001 Tour Championship. Weir has played solid stuff on his three trips to Augusta and has to be fancied to improve upon his tied 24th last time. But whether his game is powerful enough to overcome the big hitters remains to be seen.
