US MASTERS PROFILE
After failing to make an impression on three previous visits to Augusta, Goosen confirmed his elevation to elite status by finishing runner-up to Tiger Woods in 2002. That was his first Masters since winning the 2001 US Open and since making his major breakthrough the South African has shown he is a man to take seriously every time he tees it up. Goosen had time off recently following the birth of a new baby and the rust showed as he missed the cut at the Players Championship. But a much better showing at last week's BellSouth Classic where he shot a final round 65 to finish tied third suggests Goose is peaking at the right time. The European Tour's number one for the last two years has added length to his driving this season so has all the assets to emerge as one of the biggest threats to Tiger again.
