| After six successive top 30 finishes at Augusta, including two top sixes, Furyk's consistent run in the Masters was ended by a surprising missed cut last year. That was part of a nightmare run which saw him fail to make it to the weekend in the first three majors of the season. But Furyk ended the campaign with a top ten in the USPGA and is enjoying an excellent start to 2003. His five top sixes, including a play-off defeat to Scott Hoch in the Honda Classic and a tied fourth in the Players Championship last time out, are reminiscent of the high-class form he showed in the late 1990s. If the putts drop at the right time, Furyk's bid to land a first major could just prove successful this week. |
